Email me your goals for this week.  Be specific as to what course you will be working on as well as which chapters and the topics covered.  If you are working out of a book, be specific as to which book and which chapters and the topics covered.  Friday I will allow you to have a project day.   You can work on things like drawing with the drawing tablet, creating a design that may be used at a later date for a t-shirt, mousepad, 11 x 17″ or 8.5 by 11″ poster, etc.  You will have to email me prior to starting your project on Friday though explaining what your planned project is.  So.. put some thought into your goals for the week and email me before leaving today.

If you did not add screen shots of your work on blog entries for last week, you may go back and add them today.  I will be taking grades on your blog entries and you will not get full credit if you don’t explain what skills and techniques you used/learned as well as a screen shot of the “before” and “after” of each project or lesson.  If you have questions about my expectations please ask.  Also, you can combine all work for one day into one blog post.  You can “update” the post if needed to include more information as needed throughout the day.

You will need to take one of the following Brainbench exams this week unless you passed all three last week or are a returning student:

  • Computer Fundamentals (Mac OS X 10.8)
  • Computer Fundamentals (Win 7)
  • Computer Literacy (Win 7)

You may retake the exams as many times as needed to pass.  I will use the grading scale posted at for a grade upon passing the certification or at the end of the semester  even if you did not pass the certification.  If you have questions, please let me know. All first year students must take all three exams!  Some of you did not submit any scores last week.  You need to print two copies of the score while it is on your screen. You will keep one copy in your planner and sign and submit the other score in the tray for me.

Congratulations to the following students for earning Brainbench certifications last week:
